Construction of a medical rural clinic. Lugari district, Western Kenya

see the Kenya-Photo Gallery

The health of a developing nation depends largely on the rural set up of its communities and the prevailing development projects. However in many communities in Kenya and other countries, poverty has made the larger population unable to meet their basic needs such as food, education and medical requirements. For this reason there is a need to have a medical clinic that will be able to serve the community. This clinic is envisaged to assist in eradicating or reducing effects of malnutrition, mortality rate and other related demerits caused by lack of health facilities. This clinic will bring a positive development impact to the rural community.

The clinic will be build to the near school founded by WFWP (see link) of Japan and Kenya. The project participant will come from all the East Africa countries Zambia, Tanzania, Uganda etc. Also a group of IRFF volunteers will join them from Europe and the USA.

A soil block presses was donated to start the local production of blocks. This is a manual machine and produce strong durable building block's by compacting a mixture of soil and cement. By producing the blocks on the building site, will cost less then half as much as concrete or quarry stones walls.
