IIPC Inauguration in France, April 2004

IIPC Inauguration

April 3, 2004, exactly 6 months after the inauguration in New York, around 200 persons participated in the inauguration of the French chapter of IIPC. Among them several Embassies and religions were represented.

The program started at 3 pm, with Mr Laurent Ladouce as MC. He first read a letter from Mrs Bernadette Chirac and of Mr Dominique de Villepin, Minister of Foreign Affairs.

Then several religious leaders joined Rev. Im Kyu-Moon to light together seven candles representing all religion
and Mrs Claire AUNE read some parts of the World Scriptures about "Pilars of the Society".

Mr Jean-François Moulinet presented a PowerPoint presentation about IIPC core principles and Mrs Myriam TRACHEZ read part of True Father's speech to the UN.

We had four presentations about recent concrete initiatives:

  • « The role of spiritualities for World Peace » –  by Dr Nihad FAHMI, former General Secretary of G 15, and General Secretary of "Dialogue among Civilizations"
  • « The place of mariage and family in the Culture of Peace », –  by Rev. Alain NICOLIER, conjugal and familial advisor.
  • « The role of Civile Society for building World Peace », –  by Mr. Massimo TROMBIN, president for Europe of the International Relief Friendship Foundation ;
  • Then we showed a video about Jerusalem, and Mr. Bernard ZAMARON, General Delegate of the Robert Schumann Centre for Europe, spoke on : « Heart to Heart for Peace in the Middle East »,  a gospel singer offered some songs.

We presented the Ambassadors for Peace working now in France and gave the Ambassadors for Peace certificate to 4 VIPs.

Then Mr Heiner HANDSCHIN, regional Leader for West Europe, read the "Paris Resolution", which was first signed by the Ambassador of Ghana and his wife, and by the great majority of the assistance.

To conclude, we all sang "Let Peace begin on Earth" and to mark the entrance in a new era, Rev. IM used a gong.

All the guests could then see an exhibition about our different acitivities.

We are sincerely grateful for the support that we received from IIFWP International (videos, and PowerPoint presentations) and from Switzerland, and from Luxembourg; through this cooperation, our meeting could have a lot more impact.

Thank you.

Jean-François Moulinet.
