Donation of toys for children - April 2001

Due to one of our friends, a successful business man, who sympathizes always with IRFF, we received a big donation of toys, about 1600. From this 1000 are beautiful decorations for Christmas. Other are good and expensive toys, which most of the children have never the opportunity to play with.

We decided to donate them to some orphanages and for poor children together with the food supplies and clothes when we visit them.

Two big donations from this toys were for one orphanage in Brasov (about 200 children) and for kindergarden in one village next to Brasov, Bacel. In this kindergarden all children received one toy and some other were donated for use in their classes.

The children were very happy, also their teachers. For this kindergarden we still are looking for a possibility to bring them TV and a video-machine, in order to see chartoons and other beautiful stories for children.

1 June 2001- Swimming pool competition

In December 2000 we hold one conference in Brasov, and about 250 leaders from all fields of society participated. With some of them we keep in touch. One of this NGO invited us to the swimming pool competition for children, organized every year at 1st of June.

The competition was for about 150 children , all received some sweet presents and the winnes received good prices.

We invited 14 children coming from poor families and two of them received prices.

During this competition, local TV came and we came on news with one short report about our activities.

1 June 2001- Presents for children from " Floarea Soarelui Smile"

The second project at 1st June was one donation of toys for all children infected with HIV from Brasov (they receive care and medicine from one hospital) and one day trip for them to the zoo and to some mountain area.

Children enjoyed very much.

Donation of food and chloths for families with very difficult economical situation

During our short work experience in Romania we made also research, what is the most serious problem that we need to pay attention. And it came out very clear a very serious one: for poor families with many children it is almost impossible to provide proper food for their children. Also local autorities help is very small, compared to the need.

After talking with all our members here, we decided to start a project for poor families.

We have now the list of 21 families (about 80 people, due to many children they have), and we started to look for sponsors.

In this house there live parents with 4 children
