Report on Romanian project 2000 - second part of the project 7-8 October 2000
"Implementing the Culture of Peace"

In Romanian tradition, we consider that a man can be proud of his life when he plants a tree, build a house or have a child. For most participants of our voluntary service in April 2000, the first step was fulfilled. We were many young and very young participants. Now, we can be proud of our work; many of the trees that we planted in Brasov, on Dealul Melcilor, are strong and they will be over time our pride.

In 7-8 October 2000, IRFF Romania organized second project in Brasov for cleaning the area of the trees and prepare them for winter.We could meet some of the participants in April (mr. Chang- Container, Ovidiu Ungureanu, Marius Rosu, Anca) and new IRFF graduated from Slovakia second archaeological project, together with new voluntars. A nr. of 16 participants graduated this 2 days project. Also this time our strong support came from Forestry students and local Scouts. In the first day we shared IRFF vision and OSSSilva and Scouts next programs. The weather was wonderful and helped us to fulfill our task: collect the trash and prepare the trees for coming soon cold. In the second day we shared our joy in the mountain, on the top of Tampa (those who came in April remember wonderful view). Also we were very happy to see that now people care more about trash and mountain is much more clean.

We want to thank you again deeply to all the participants in April and October project and we wish to work together for new project (for those prepared to challenge the beautiful Romanian mountains).
