Cameras
Experiencing nature firsthand through a scenic run is one of the most enjoyable ways of healthy recreation. Looking at the green scenery against the mountainous backdrop is enough to soothe the soul. More than enjoying the scene for a single time, having it captured by a digital camera freezes the wonderful landscape into a timeless digital image. The best camera to take on a scenic run is one that is durable enough to withstand constant shaking and occasional bumping. While digital single-lens reflex cameras take the best snapshots, these are bulky. Hence, compact digital cameras are the highly recommended options. Some advanced compact cameras also have features that attempt to mimic that of the DSLR. In addition, the camera must provide a good grip so that it will not easily fall off when on the run.
The Sony Cyber-shot W570 is one of the lightest compact digital cameras that can take quality shots. Weighing only 4.1 oz., the W570 is lighter than another famous lightweight Canon PowerShot SD940 IS, which weighs 4.2 oz. In addition, the latter has 12.1-megapixel resolution compared to the former which has 16.1 megapixels of effective resolution. The W570 can also take telephoto and wide angle shots with a focal range of 28-140 mm. Another important feature which makes the W570 suitable for a scenic run is the image stabilizer technology integrated into the product that reduces blurring due to shaky hands.
If one is on a really harsh environment, then the Olympus Mju 795 SW is the recommended digital camera. The 795 SW is a tough digital camera that can withstand a 5-foot fall. This camera is also waterproof and dustproof. At 7.1-megapixels, however, its resolution is lower than the standard.
For the friendlier running environment, the W570 is the ideal choice with its commendable optical zooming capabilities. To withstand harsh running environments, the Olympus Mju is a better alternative.
